The mission of Vacation Bicycling is the dedication to the highest value of bicycling tours delivered with friendliness that will allow independence, safety and create memories for a lifetime.

Our History:

Before starting our company, we decided to look at other companies that started small and grew into large successful organizations. The key, seemed to us, is to focus on the journey rather than just the destination and to always remember to focus on providing one thing really, really well: the best value in bicycle tours.

We set up our corporate model to provide the lowest possible prices for our trips in much the same way Southwest Airlines started more than 35 years ago. People at the time thought it was impossible to provide low cost, quality and friendliness. But after starting with just one plane, as you probably know, Southwest Airlines now flies more than 80 million passengers per year. We may not want to have that many people on our bicycle tours, but you never know.

Our Philosophy:

We found that if we just tweaked things a little on bicycle tours that we have taken, they could really be perfect vacations. So we filled in all the things we missed out on and we hope you find our tours perfect as well. We are constantly trying to improve, so our hope is each tour will be just a little bit better than the previous one.

Goals of the ride with Vacation Bicycling:

1. Independence, but guidance so you may enjoy your vacation with your own spin.
2. Encourage relaxation to ensure an enjoyable vacation.
3. Excellent dinners at local restaurants that are tested and reviewed to ensure they are exceptional.
4. Lodging that is well respected with excellent reviews from people just like you; never camping.
5. Accurate cue sheets to avoid frustration in your daily mileage.
6. Itineraries that will always take you on scenic routes that are designed to avoid traffic and confusion.
7. Information on attractions you may consider adding into your vacation.
